Hair Model

So I got to be a hair model yesterday (well Brent suffered with a man cold with the babies). It was bliss. 6+ hours of primping, pampering and girly-ness!

My hair is long. Brent and my hair have a special relationship. They are a little 'attached'. He grieves when I get a cut.

So he thought is prob just trim it. I came home a whole new woman. He was asleep when I got home and I can honestly say his mouth opened in shock. I'm not sure if it's happy or sad shock yet.

There was a few inches chopped and some ombré added. Its pretty different for this boring old housewife ha ha ha.

Hopefully I can keep up the trendiness-maybe I'll buy some aggressively ripped jeans and perhaps and slouchy toque and some hipster glasses ha ha ha.

Beckham also has spent all day fondeling my hair and looking at it in awe. Hopefully I don't develope a second converse boy to obsess with my hair.

As hilarious as it is, I also find it totally endearing that Brent loves my hair. It's kinda similar to how much I love his arms...or watching him renovate shirtless.Mmm hmmm, God did bless me with a handsome muscely man. TMI? Hehe

Anyways here's my silly before and after

Cuddles

I love cuddles. Especially sleeping baby cuddles. Audrey isn't super snuggly (very often) and when she is...she's quick...you almost don't realize you were getting cuddled before it's over.

Beckham is my snuggler. I love it. For me it's pure heaven. Everytime he falls asleep on me it makes me emotional. Always wondering if it's going to be the 'last snuggle'. I just wanna make sure I cherish it.

I might be extra emotional about it because he is likely my last, sadly. My heart still breaks about not having more babies but that's just life I guess. So instead of obsessing over the babies I could have had I guess I am just trying to cherish even more the babies I do have.

I am aware they are toddlers ha ha. They will still be my babies forever though!

Beckhams pee Fiasco

So beckham is potty trained
He's mostly nude most of the time
Easy on
Easy off
Easy pee on the potty.
He had quite a few accidents on Christmas Eve but has done fabulous besides then.

Today Beckham and Audrey were playing in Audrey's room while Brent and I prepared for having bible study at our house.

Audrey came down proclaiming beckham did a 'no no' let me tell you the tatteling really has escalated. Ha ha. We didn't believe her. Then she said 'Beckham peed in my sink'

(She has a play kitchen)

We didn't believe her ha ha.

Then Brent went to check. Sure enough he had peed in one of Audrey's kitchen toys and dumped it into her play kitchens sink. Ha ha. I'm only laughing because that is such a boy boy boy thing. Audrey would have never done that.

As Brent is punishing him I may have giggled a little...I'm pretty sure he was pretending to 'cook' with his pee. Ha ha ha ha

Merry Christmas 3

Christmas morning. Who was more excited mommy or the kids? Maybe mommy. I woke up at 5:30 SO excited. I rationally forced myself back to sleep. Audrey then kept down the stairs at 7:40. She was SO excited that Santa came.

Beckham got woken up in all the commotion&came and joined right in. We proceeded to open our stockings. They were so excited I can't even write in words the noises and commotion that occurred. It was a blast.

Brent made us a crepe, berry & whip cream breakfast. It was scrumptious!

After we cleaned up breakfast we then opened toys with the babies and that was a quick quick event. We thoughts about pacing it but oh man once they started their was no turning back. It was a riot ha ha.

We pales and watched a 'Diego Christmas movie' it was a lovely time.

The time was ticking so before naptime I got the kids to help me bake a cake so we could decorate it after. It's our annual 'happy birthday Jesus cake'. It's not glamorous when it's decorated by a 2 and 3 year old but it was heartwarmingly beautiful in my eyes. Fast forward to naptime...bliss. Naps for adults as well!

When the kiddos woke we decorated the cake, sung happy birthday to Jesus & blew out the candle. Oh yes then we indulged and ate it!!

We had a light dinner after all the treats and indulging we did today. I was going to make a Ham but we didn't get around to it, just that kind of day. We will do it another day!

Alright. After the extra sugar and spoiled kid syndrome after so many presents we put another movie on to calm the storm and crankiness. That was Christmas over here. It was absolute bliss!!

Jesus

Jesus. My best friend. My saviour. My Father and so much more.

Brent and I laid in bed tonight both on our phones. Me on Pinterest, him on 'clash of the titans' We are dorks-it's how we roll.

We have been presented with a few situations were we have become close friends with someone who don't believe in Jesus. I met a mom at a park and we have been slightly bossum friends. She doesn't judge me for my 'crazy talk' and I don't judge her for her 'crazy lack of belief'. Secretly I want to introduce her to Jesus. I guess it's not such a secret.

Hi, my name is Sheena. Ever watch the movie 'bubble boy'? Well I'm the epitome of 'bubble girl' just in a non germ way. In a Jesus way.

-raised in the church
-Christian school
-missions trips my whole life
-worked in a Christian school
-99.8% of friends are Christians
-still go to church etc

I rolled over in bed and asked Brent this questions.

'If _______ asked you why you believe Christianity to be truth what would you say?'

He didn't like this questions because it was before bed and stressful haha.

For me faith is easy when I look at my fingers, my toes, look at my baby peacefully breathing and growing healthily. When I look at the snow, the leaves, the ocean and weather. How could everything happen by chance. That alone screams 'I was created and designed by a God who sees beauty in all things small, big, intricate and simple.'

How do you explain the conversation and relationship you have with Jesus. How he is your peace, guidance, best friend, rock, and  comfort.

I remember this moment from a young age. Singing at church. Not because I had to. Because I wanted to. I had this switch. It felt like pinpricks all over me. I just knew Jesus was God. I was a Mennonite and yet I still felt this Pentecostal Holy Spirit moment. I won't forget it (I was under 10 for sure). I just knew. It was like in that moment it became not a faith that I was told was truth and became a faith I knew was truth.

If someone was born in a house, never left the house, the house never had any wondows and they never saw outside how would you explain wind, sun, snow and rain.

How would you explain the warmth on your skin, the sensation, the wind in your hair, the howl of the wind, the cold weightless flakes of snow. How do you explain something to someone who has never felt it before. How do I explain to someone Jesus when they have never felt his love, mercy, grace and forgiveness.

I have all the facts. Look at my resume. I've been educated in it. I've just never been taught how to defend myself. These are the conversations we have been having lately before bed.

I'm going in research mode. Apologetics here I come. I feel like in order to walk my walk I need to know the 'why' I need to be able to defend my God.

Anyways night time is calling. Off to sleep I go!

Merry Christmas 2

So Christmas Eve started like many other work days in the Converse house. Cooking and cleaning for Sheena and working for Brent. That didn't stop the fun festivities from coming.

At 3:30 we went to church for our Christmas Eve service. It was fun and chaos all mixed together. Beckham is still a rookie in potty training so in that hour he asked to go potty 5 times. Ha ha. We then went back to our house with Brent's parents and Bryan and Casey. We had nachos, smoked salmon, and grandma brought all her fab fab fab Christmas baking! We let the kids open their Lego table and grandma and grandpa gave the kids one gift. It was a great night. Our kids did fabulous. We kept them up till 8pm which is super late for our kids.

The minus of Christmas Eve? Oh mercy. Rookie potty trained kid had 3 accidents from dinner till bedtime. Two being poop. He really hasn't had many so it was super disheartening. Serious. It was the distraction and stimulation I'm sure. (We will just blame it on that ha ha ha)

Such a fun night and one of Brent and my favourite traditions.

Merry Christmas

So Santa came. He told me to tell the kids they can't open the presents under the tree until he comes back with their stockings. Watching them look at the presents is so cute. Haha Audrey keeps telling beckham that 'you can't touch you can only kiss them' I have to remind her that we actually can't even kiss them. I know if I let them kiss them it will turn into a free for all...everything would be unwrapped because I even had a chance to intervene hahaha
