Halloween 2013

So I LOVE Halloween. Brent on the other hand enjoys it but the costume pressure stresses him out. This year I didn't pressure him instead I just planned mine and the kids months ago (that's how we roll). Brent landed up picking up his costume on the day of our party. He shocked me how 'all out' he went. Oh man we had some giggles.

Audrey and Beckham were Mickey and Minnie and just absolutely precious. They were so so so cute!

Brent was ERNIE and I was Wanda (as in where's Waldo's girlfriend.) I made some jokes about how I broke up with Waldo so that I could get with Ernie. A little in appropriate but was historical.

On actual Halloween we are getting together with some friends and all taking the kids to go to an event called 'trunk or treat' and do some trick or treating after. We are pumped. I don't care about the stereotyping that most Christians put on Halloween I love it and it's a holiday we really enjoy celebrating as a family. Such a blast.

I already have some ideas for next year...
Maybe Brent will be Waldo and him and Wanda will reunite...and perhaps the kiddos will be Dora and Diego. So silly!

Preschool mornings

I'm not a morning person. When I worked I used to roll out of bed 10 mins before I left. Just enough time to....
-brush teeth
-change
-deodorant
-hair in pony tail
-grab a banana.

Audrey now has to be at preschool at 8:30. We leave at 8:15. We have never been late. It's 7:48 and I'm laying in bed blogging about procrastination and how I rush in the morning. It's true. I'm horrid.

20 mins is double the time I had before (good thing my kids eat quick)
-change
-teeth
-pack lunches
-do Audrey's hair
-all of the above list for me
-whip beckham out if bed
-walk to school

I might procrastinate but man oh man I'm efficient when it's time to get cracking.
Now is 7:50am
CHOW....I better roll

Trust is earned...

Audrey's new phrase.
'I need privacy...it's my privacy time'
As much as I want to trust her and respect her desire for privacy...when I 'check' on her and she's giggling like a yahoo...I start to think 3 is to young for privacy lol. This lil monkey is up to no good during her 'privacy time'  lol

Snoring escapades

Brent snores.
This is fact.
Brent falls asleep during shows.
This is fact.
Sometimes I sneak away when he falls asleep so I can go to bed without snoring.
This is fact
I miss him while I sleep blissfully
This is fact
It's my favourite kind of sleep...snore-less sleep
This is fact
Sneaking to bed is worth it.
This is fact
I hate snoring
When he snores it brings out CRAZY Sheena.
Tip toe tip toe
I'm actually sneaking away as I type. Hopefully I get a couple hours to sleep without snoring before he comes to snuggle me and smother me with snores *giggle*

Age 2 and Age 3

We recently got pictures taken of the kids, I would say these are our top four of the bunch. Such lil monkeys---sure made mommy and daddy sweat trying to get some good shots to frame on the wall!

Audrey's first movie theatre experience

We haven't ever taken the kids to the movies. Partially out of fear, partially because they don't watch much TV so we didn't think they would enjoy it. In the past couple months Audrey has started loving Dora & Diego the tv show. Our kids still don't watch much TV-if given the choice they would much rather be outside, but Audrey could for sure sit through a 20 minute show.

When she turned three we decided we wanted to take her to a movie. That is easier said then done. Finding an appropriate movie that has a showing early enough for your good lil sleepers proved to be challenging. Fast forward six months and we finally made if happen.

We chose the movie 'cloudy with a chance of meatballs 2' after reading reviews and watching trailers.

What a great pick, not scary, totally captivating and still super fun and entertaining for adults.

So Brent's parents watched beckham, I know poor dude missed out. We just love having one on one quality time with the babies and wanted to make it special for Audrey. We also weren't sure beckham could sit through a movie yet.

So after we left home we told Audrey what we were doing and she was a lil sad to leave Beckham behind but got over it quickly.

We took her to the $ store were we let her pick out a pop and a few candies. Brent asked me if we were going to moderate how much candy we'd let her eat. We decided since we don't really have candy, juice or pop at home that this would be her night of indulgence. She could eat as much as she wanted.

We got to the theatre and the flashing lights of games, the smell of food and all the people captivated Audrey entirely. We could have just hung out in the foyer and she would have left happy lol. We bought some popcorn. Went to the theatre. Just watching her walk into the theatre was a big deal. Her tiny little body and that big screen, her bulging eyes, her shocked mouth telling us that's a big TV. It was a success and worth the wait.

We went wayyyyyy up too. The theatre wasn't full. We took a couple pictures. She was so so excited and let's be honest already a little sugar high. She packed away so much candy and pop it was jmpressive but she regulated herself. Half way through the movie she relaxed on the 'snacking' and just enjoyed the movie.

When we ask her if she was having fun she would simply say 'yahhhhhhh' without taking her eyes off of the screen. It was a blast. Brent and I enjoyed seeing such excitement and enjoyment through her eyes. It was also such a blessing just to have some one on one time with our princess. Many more dates to come that's for sure.

My fireCRACKer

Audrey's dressed herself, I should have double checked but she might have forgot one thing ha ha.

She insisted on this outfit to wear to the farmers market in the rain. She is Audrey, she knows what she wants. I can feel it already. She is going to be a leader!!

Haircut

So Beckham got his first haircut not by mommy. We took him to our tenant named 'Sandy' she's fabulous and only charges $10 for kids cuts. I recommend her big time.

It was a hard cut for me. Beckham went so so so blonde this summer and his steaks just warm my heart. I also know that Brent was blonde as a kid so I wonder each time 'is this good bye to blonde'.

I used to say how much I wanted them to be brunettes like mommy, but seriously I'm going to brag a lil. My kids got it going on! Tannnnnned skin, blond hair, beautiful eyes. They are such beautiful babies.

Anyways so I bought Bevkham a doughnut. He ate it during the cut. Lets just say it worked miracles because he held so nice and still....but...he was getting a hair cut. That doughnut got covered in hair and he still ate it. *barf* whatever works right?

I miss the blonde but he looks so so so handsome and when his hair is cut you can really see those smouldering eyes.

Beckham if you ever read this. You're not allowed to date (ok maybe when you're 25), you're not allowed to use those smouldering and broody eyes to woo helpless girls. A man of integrity you need to be don't simply rely on your incredible looks. Ill discipline   you big time if you become a heart beaker
