When mommy is sick

We stay outside all day
Painting rocks
Swimming in baby pools
Playing with kittens
Picking flowers
Planting 'seeds'

This is there happy place. Today when I want to be a sideline parent-outside is ideal. I sit. I tan. I enjoy my babies-all while feeling quite vile. Yuck!

We got the cranks over here

We got the cranks.
Mommy got it
Beckhams got it
It seems to be contagious
We are cranky and in need or the sunshine to come back

Sheep-ish additions

So our neighbours sold their quota (cows) so they no longer have cows. Because they don't have cows we now have a open orchard of tall grass that we don't want to Landcape of maintain.

So today we got sheep!!!
Two baby lambs and one mama sheep!
So this will be a new chapter in our 'farm'ish life haha. We are a hybrid between city folk and farmers haha.

I'm pretty sure we will name them and put pretty dog collars on them. Then come end of the season...into our freezer they go. (Unless it breaks my heart haha)

My Ugly Time

Oh man, I haven't seen my real hair color since I was 12. That many years of hair dying and bleaching is bad news for anyone's hair. Every once and awhile when Brent's guaranteed to not be home I break out and ugli-fy.

I slather my hair in coconut. I'm talking the greasiest nastiest amount ever. Looks like I haven't showered in a year. Haha! Then I whip some eggs and totally drench my hair with the whipped eggs.

Then the classiest part. I then seran wrap my whole head haha! Then I wet a medium sized towl-microwave it and wrap it around my head when it's hot.

After the towl cools down I just chill until naptime we my seran wrapped head. The kids think I'm hilarious.

Along the same time-on my ugly day I also nair my mustache. That's right...hairy German girl over here.
Haha it's kinda hilarious. If anyone was to catch me on a day like that I would be horrified.

Aging is best with Brent

Brent and I celebrated my 27th birthday on Thursday! He really outdid himself. I even woke up today (Saturday) and just felt totally blessed for having such a nice day with him. Special thanks to grandma and grandpa for babysitting our lil ones.

I woke up to the MOST beautiful orchid plant.
Then when I went back to bed to wait for the kids to wake up he came in with a special latte just for me from Starbucks.
He only worked a half day so around 12:30 he came home and gave me the gifts him and the kids picked out for me. One being two potted strawberry planters. I've been mega into gardening so it was pure perfection-such a treat!

He took me to Harrison Hot Springs for a couples massage, pampering, special dinner, relaxing in all the pools and most importantly quality time to connect. I just love love love spending time with him! Haha sometimes I think a car ride just the two of us is enough to fill my love tank completely. I just love having time to chit chat and connect.

We goofed off, relaxed, giggled and pretended we were young and care free!!! It was the perfect birthday!!!

Cheers to being 27-I'm thinking this May be my best year yet!!!

Audrey's Show and Tell!

Today Audrey had show and tell!
I let her bring in her kittens to her preschool so she could tell all her little friends about her kittens.

Walking into school we past various big kids, monitors, crossing guard, parents and more! She exclaimed with jubilee every single time we passed a person. 'I have kittens!!!' They all smiled and giggled (while being slightly confused)

Once we got to her actual class she went to each of her friends and told them how she brought her kittens to school and how they could hold them and feed them (that wasn't exactly true but it was cute). I'm not quite sure if I've ever encountered Audrey being this excited. Which is surprising because she is quite excitable. You simply say 'grandma' and she's jumping and leaping in joy. So this excitement was even more exuberant.

We sat in circle time. We sang songs. Audrey could barely keep her bum and feet on her mat. She was dieing with anticipation.

When time finally came for show and tell she leapt up and started talking.

'These are my kittens. They live in a barn. We feed them treats and grass and worms (we don't actually give them grass and worms) there are this many (she held up three fingers)'

She held a kitten and her two teachers held a kitten and let all her friends pet them. It was a hit. All the kids were in heaven. Squealing and oooh-ing and ahhhhh-ing. Audrey being my daughter was absolutely in heaven being the total center of attention.

Disclaimer: I came home patting myself on the shoulder that it was such a success. The reason being as I had my BIGGEST mommy fail. When we came back from vacation in March and our basement was flooded I lost my mind...and I forgot show and tell day...that means she went to school empty handed and came home broken hearted. Oh my lanta my heart broke. Kinda hoping the kitten show and tell redeemed the no show and tell day *wink wink.

Titty Tat

'Titty tat' (kitty cat)
Today we drove to chilliwack to get our new additions. I told the kids we were getting a surprise so for 45 mins Audrey tried her hand at guessing.

The clues
-it's alive
-it eats
-it breathes
-we need to name it

The guesses
-a bouncy ball
-a teddy bear
-a dolly
-a doggy (soooooo close! I tried to prompt her to guess something similar to a doggy and she was back to bouncy balls)
-a cupcake
-a birthday party

To name a few. Hahaha. We pulled up to the farm and talked to the man who led us to the kittens. When they saw the kittens I admit I felt bad for the man. The high pitched squeeling and jumping for glee! They were soooooooo excited!!!!

The whole way home Audrey talked about what she wanted to name them.

It started with names like
'Flimflamy'
'Bagisy'
'Oboomba'

I nixed it. Whoops bad mommy. I needed names we could actually remember haha.

She settled on
'Pickle'
'Sparkle'
She was set on naming the 3rd but I wanted to give beckham a shot.

Audrey pointed, ' sparkle, pickle...'
And Beckham exclaimed 'three!'

So that's the third name. I know he has a fish named 'two' and a cat named 'three' but heck he's only 2 so we will go with it haha!

We got home. The kittens are SO little. Beckham looks like a terrorist to them I'm sure. They feared him like the Israelites feared Goliath. It was intense. There was some tears. Beckham just loves the so much...maybe to much Haha!

Gentle is a skill he hasn't mastered so we are working on it!!!

Handful of weeds

Oh my heart.
I seriously get why people buy teacup poodles now. To capture and freeze the cutsy baby stage forever. I wish I could just feed my babies some coffee or to much chocolate and stunt them into staying 'teacup' forever. Age 2&3 is pure perfection. Some hiccups for sure. The innocence, sweetness and snuggles make up for it times a million though.

I'm sitting here with a handful of weeds&a heart filled to the brim with love. The kiddos are running around singing about Jesus's love and picking me 'flowers. It's actually bliss. This is a moment I want to remember. Especially when they are 13 and think I'm thinking their lives.

Who knew that a handful of weeds was all I needed to make my day perfect!

Kisses

One of my favoriting anomalies is how one of the kids (particularly Beckham!) can litterly take a full on header off the coffee table and smack his head on the ground (hard!). He will come to me in tears. He points to his ouchy I smooch it. Then smiles. If I took a header off the coffee table it would take more then a smooch for me to stop crying. He's such a tough dude. He has such a special spot in my heart.

Muddy Boy

That time beckham got stuck knee high in mud and couldn't get out...so mommy took a picture before helping!
